I've already been bombarded by friends telling me that they're suffering from post-holiday blues, and to be honest, I'm feeling it a little too. When it's dark and cold outside it's easy to get down, but there are some really fun things we can all look forward to this January. Check out my list below and if you think I've missed something, add your thoughts in the comments section — the more things to look forward to the better!

Even if you didn't turn into a Bridezilla, the letdown after your wedding day can feel overwhelmingly depressing, and the feelings around postnuptial depression are now being recognized by psychiatrists and therapists. According to a recent article on Time.com, therapists say that most people experience some sort of letdown after the big day, but five to 10 percent of newlyweds experience strong enough feelings of remorse, sadness, or frustration to seek professional help. To avoid these feelings, the article offers some advice:
After the vows, to defeat the postnuptial blues, doctors say couples should get adequate rest and exercise; communicate constantly; focus on the benefits of marriage, such as having a built-in support system; and start thinking about the future in terms of family or finance.

Every so often we can feel down on our luck. Maybe it's just a passing mood or maybe it's a particularly bad string of events, but sometimes in this hectic life we just need a pick-me-up. Here are some of my quick mood boosters when the going gets tough.

Sometimes when you're feeling blue — you got demoted or broke up with your boyfriend — the smallest thing can pep you up, just like that. For some it's ordering your favorite comfort food, for others it's splurging on that top you had your eye on but couldn't justify buying, and for still others, it's as simple as calling up your best friend for a good old fashioned vent session. Treating yourself always makes you feel better, and while I'm not an advocate of giving into your vices every time the going gets tough, I admit I like to do a little of all three when I've had a bad day!

We all have those days when we feel a little down and out. It's totally normal to wake up on the wrong side of the bed every once in a while, but it's key not to let the blues get the best of you, although that's often easier said than done! When I need a quick fix, buying something new always turns my day around.

Jason Lee has been keeping a low profile since My Name Is Earl went off the air, but he's about to make a return to TV in the upcoming TNT series Delta Blues, which is executive produced by George Clooney. Lee is set to play Dwight Hendricks, a police officer by day, Elvis impersonator by night.
I loved Lee in pretty much every Kevin Smith movie — from Brodie in Mallrats to Banky in Chasing Amy — but I could never warm up to Earl (or that absurd mustache).

I must admit I'm not big on special fitness drinks, especially recovery drinks. They're often full of extra calories, and I usually opt for water since most exercise physiologists believe you don't need to worry about replacing electrolytes, carbs, and protein unless you have been working out and sweating for more than an hour. I often think a lot of these drinks have added coloring and chemicals, so when I saw Code Blue marketed as an all natural post-workout drink I was curious to try it.

I always welcome Cate Blanchett's smashing style and serene smile. The actress attended a Giorgio Armani event in NYC clad in a royal Armani Privé one-shoulder dress with asymmetrical hemline. Purple satin pumps coordinate without being too matchy, while sparkly blue topaz earrings and a tennis bracelet add shine to her beautiful look.

Planning to travel this weekend? You're not alone — long-distance trips increase 54 percent over the Thanksgiving travel season. Traveling is stressful, but just because you're away from home doesn't mean you have to be without your high-tech conveniences.
