The need to have exactly eight hours of sleep a night is a myth, since we all have different sleep needs. Some function perfectly fine on seven, while others have to have at least nine. Whatever amount your body calls for I'm wondering, once it's time to hit the hay .

We may be running around too much and working too hard, but at least Americans are getting plenty of sleep. A new study, entitled "Not So Deprived: Sleep in America," indicates that US sleepers are getting about eight hours of shuteye a night, despite conventional wisdom to the contrary.
The recent research, from the University of Maryland, goes against the annual data released by the National Sleep Foundation (which, by the way, is partly funded by manufacturers of sleeping pills).

Attention spooners! It is now officially bad for your health to share your bed. According to British experts, when you share a bed with your partner and one of you moves in your sleep, there is a 50 percent chance that you will disturb the other person's sleep.

We all have those nights when we have a hard time falling asleep. Maybe it's because we've had a hard day or maybe it's because our schedules are just off but for whatever the reason, you may want to consider Dreamerz, an all natural sleep aid beverage.
At first, I was not all for trying Dreamerz because I am not typically the type of person that likes to 'take' something to aid in sleep.

One way that busy folks try to increase their productivity level is to sleep less, and many boast that they can survive with six or so hours of sleep. A good night's sleep, between seven and nine hours, has been found to be vital for our overall health. Chronic undersleeping can lead to diabetes, high blood pressure, and some cancers, not to mention depression and short-term memory loss.

I never could stomach letting my children cry it out. Despite friends who swear by the method and have logged enviable amounts of sleep, I can't imagine hitting the hay while my infant whimpers.
In working staggered schedules, my husband and I came up with our own method — tire them out.
