One of the hardest, but most important parts of a relationship is learning how to communicate effectively when the going gets tough. It’s easy to talk when it’s all sunshine and rainbows, but communicating your feelings to someone else when you’re not even sure what you’re feeling can seem impossible. Ideally, once you're settled into a relationship, you’ve figured out the best way to talk to one another, but the truth is, even people who’ve been happily married for decades can be terrible at effective communication.

Every new step in a relationship allows a couple to learn more about each other. Meeting a significant other’s friends reveals his attitude and sense of humor, visiting his childhood home lets you in on his past, and moving in together opens up a wealth of information about his day-to-day habits. And while everything you learn may not be music to your ears, accepting someone's minor flaws is part of the package.

Dear Sugar,
I've been seeing my new boyfriend for about five months and we have plenty of good fun sex, some adventurous stuff too (well, adventurous for me), but the trouble is he thinks that I don't like his penis because I don't do well with hand and oral endeavors. He is great at explaining what he wants and how to pleasure himself, but I'm not a talker so I end up flustered and self conscious about messing up. I'm worried that he'll give up on me and look elsewhere.

I just read an article in the LA Times that struck a nerve with me, and I have a feeling you will all agree. This Fall, the Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary will be offering a class on how to be a better housewife — a class only open to women, of course! This academic program will offer lectures on laundering stubborn stains and how to bake chocolate-chip cookies.

ok so i made a list of community collage courses that interested me, and apparently my dad found it, and selected the 3 he approved of for me. he acted like the other courses were dirty or something, or like they were an r rated movie. the ones he selected for me were-digital art and design, nutrition, and career planning.

Now that berry season is long gone, I'm expanding my breakfast fruit horizons. Celebrate the cold weather with pomegranate seeds in your oatmeal, or slice pears or persimmons and serve them with nut butter on toast or whole-grain waffles.
You probably know how to pick and slice a pear, but persimmons have a steeper learning curve.

I've already confessed my love for mood-boosting sites and sites that deliver daily doses of awesomeness, so it's natural that I'm loving this site from the UK, Learn Something Every Day.
Each day features a new fun fact illustrated on a bright background. For example: "The film Titanic cost more than the Titanic itself," and, "Penguins are able to jump two meters high."

I was accused of being unpatriotic when I expressed a distaste for watermelon at an Independence Day barbecue a few years ago. My hostess forced a piece upon me, and I have been eating the melon ever since. Which is a boon to my diet, since there are so many healthful reasons to love this melon.

A graphic designer has taken life lessons and transformed them into art with impact in his book Things I Have Learned in My Life So Far. With the help of his talent (and clients around the world) borderline-banal maxims like Everybody Always Thinks They Are Right were transformed into interactive art exhibits.
Now anyone can turn their life lessons into art at his website.

Eating many colors of the rainbow is easy, but dark purple can be hard to come by. And that is just one reason you should learn to love Black Mission Figs.
While dried figs are available all year round, fresh figs are in season June through September, which means you should start seeing them in the grocery store soon and they should be affordable.
