Even if you don't like to admit it, looks matter. Both our own and those of the people we date. It deems us as shallow if we place too much emphasis on appearance, but when it comes down to it, that's what initially attracts us to one another.

You really never know when, where, or how you will meet Mr. Right. I've offered up my fair share of advice on where eligible men could be hiding, but it's important to do your part, too. Of course being approachable is crucial, but so is being the best you at all times — you know, just in case!

It's no secret that Americans have a fascination with celebrities. Of course knowing that they live in a completely different world than we do makes admiring them from a far all the more fun, but new research shows that praising celebrities can actually improve self-esteem in those that suffer from low self-esteem. Women are critical of one another — that's not a new phenomena, but nor is it always the case! Sometimes when we check each other out, it can come off as judgmental and rude when we're really just doing it out of admiration. A friend once coined the term "up/downing" — when your eyes look over every part of her, from head to toe in one, quick glance.

Our favorite celebrities get to play dress up all of the time whether it's hitting the red carpet or attending a charity event, and although they look comfortable dressing the part, I think it is safe to say all women feel more comfortable dressed down.
It is almost a breath of fresh air to see our favorite celebs letting their hair down, going about their business in street clothes, all the while making themselves a little more relatable. So ladies, who is your favorite dressed down female star?

One of her two leading men, Tobey Maguire, joined her on the red carpet along with his wife Jennifer Meyer, though Jake Gyllenhaal missed the event. Amanda Peet was right by her husband David Benioff's side, supporting his latest screenwriting effort.

Anderson Cooper was the man of the evening on Saturday as he hosted the annual CNN Heroes Awards. The ceremony honored ten individuals who go above and beyond with their contribution to the world, and each was introduced to the crowd by a celebrity guest. Nicole Kidman, Kate Hudson, and Eva Mendes were a few of the ladies on hand to do the honors, while Carrie Underwood performed.

The stars of last night's American Music Awards hit the red carpet before heading inside LA's Nokia Theatre for the main event. Janet Jackson kicked things off with an energetic eight minute performance, and the evening's first award then went to the Black Eyed Peas. The Black Eyed Peas went on to take the stage to do "Boom Boom Pow" with a special Nirvana twist.

The American Music Awards took place last night in Los Angeles, celebrating the best in US music from the past 12 months! Taylor Swift was the big winner of the night, dominating the female categories and getting gongs for favourite artist in both pop and country categories as well as beating Michael Jackson to the huge award — Artist of the Year. Taylor's in London at the moment and missed the ceremony, but Michael's family Jermaine and Janet were at the ceremony and picked up the late singer's four awards.
