Dear Sugar--
My boyfriend and I have been together for 1 year and 3 months, and although we love each other very much, recently it seems we have a blowout fight once a week where I nearly break up with him, and then he barely wants to speak to me for days while he’s getting over it. Ultimately, I think the problem is that he is very independent and enjoys his freedom, and I want to spend more time with him than he feels necessary. Therefore, he feels smothered and I feel abandoned.

One thing I have been doing recently during a few of my static exercises, that has been helping to keep my focus, is closing my eyes. I know it sounds odd (and potentially a bit dangerous) but sometimes the distractions at the gym (or in the park) are too much for me to stay focused.
With my eyes closed I can really concentrate on my form and breathing.

Glenn Close hosted an event last night to honor pups that have served in combat, and with returning veterans, for the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. The benefit celebrated the brave men and women (and dogs!) and raised awareness for the organization that makes it all possible, Puppies Behind Bars.
The prison-based nonprofit trains dogs to be explosive detection canines and service dogs for the disabled with their newest initiative, titled “Dog Tags: Service Dogs For Those Who’ve Served Us”, offering these inmate-trained canines to help soldiers readjust to civilian life.
