In news that will surprise absolutely no one, researchers have found that men get so flummoxed when speaking to attractive women — using up most of their cognitive abilities trying to impress them — that they sometimes forget basic personal information like their own addresses!
Research showed that if (presumably straight) men spent even a few minutes with an attractive woman, they didn’t perform as well on tests that measure brain function than they did after speaking to someone they didn’t find attractive. Women didn’t seem to have this reaction in the presence of men they considered handsome.

Summertime is meant for the beach and warm weather attire. If I had it my way, I'd live in a sundress and flip-flops all year round — there's just something sexy about spaghetti straps and short skirts that always makes me feel beautiful. And we all know that when you feel beautiful from the inside out, you automatically become more approachable and open to meeting new people.

Drew Barrymore's interview on beauty, made me both introspective and curious. She told people she felt most beautiful right after working out, because exercising makes her feel strong.
And you...when do you feel most beautiful?

We're eight episodes into the new version of The Hills, and now that we've all given it a fair chance, I'm curious to know what you think. Is it just as good? Better?

Yay Gaga! Otherwise, though, this episode was sad on so many levels. No one is loved, and everyone except Chuck and Rufus has apparently lost the ability to be funny.

In a poll written a few years ago by my Stateside sis BellaSugar US, 46% of you felt that beauty supplements were a crock whilst, only 23% of you had even tried them. In my opinion, it takes more than just topical notions to have healthy and beautiful hair skin and nails. It matters what you ingest, and a well balanced diet, can mimic the effects of supplements.

Gross (but useful!) Hask Henna 'n' Placenta ($2) for hair has been around forever, so I guess I shouldn't be surprised that now there are placenta facials.
Placentas, also known as afterbirth, are full of protein, iron, and tons of vitamins and minerals, which, I will allow, make them excellent for the health of hair, skin, and nails. People have been using the placentas of sheep and horses as beauty aids for time immemorial, in fact.

Here are highlights from OnSugar blog Krissy's One Stop Beauty Spot.
Women, especially black women, have the ability to change hairstyles like underwear. I support you ladies no matter what you do — just do it right and take care of your hair. For the most part we all practice the same principles when it comes to proper hair care (co-washing, ACV rinse, trims, deep conditioning, etc.). I'm always willing to help people with hair questions and concerns, or at least point them in the right direction. I know plenty of people in that area.
Where I stand on a lot of hair issues:
- I'm anti kiddie perms and kiddie dreadlocks on children if they're at an age where they can't make that choice for themselves (unless, of course, it's part of your religion).
