No one likes insecurity. It can be a real downer in a relationship and oftentimes the smallest little things end up becoming blow-out fights when one person is more insecure than the other. While insecurity can be a total turn off, is the flip side any better?

Katie Holmes and her parents took Suri Cruise around NYC and to The Nutcracker this weekend while Tom Cruise posed with fans out promoting Valkyrie. Tom recently revealed he needs to work on his acting skills for his toughest critic, Suri, who didn't believe him as Santa Claus last year. As for her Christmas gifts under the tree, Tom said Suri loves dolls and stuffed animals, which isn't such a big surprise.

There's been no shortage of politicians in the news who cheated on their wives (Sanford, Spitzer, Clinton — we're talking about you), and the television show The Good Wife is even dramatizing this all-too-familiar story. Most social scientists and psychologists are not surprised; many of the traits that are required for political leadership are prevalent in narcissism: ambition, risk-taking, and charisma. You don't need to be a narcissist to be a political leader, but it doesn't hurt.

I have been dating an amazing guy for the last 10 months, however just recently, I've started to realize just how cocky he is. Sure he is a successful and incredibly attractive guy, (at least to me) but is it really necessary to brag about everything? He's constantly letting me know just how many girls stare at him at the bar and he's always going on and on about how great of an athlete he is.

It can't be easy playing a repressed character, but the women of Mad Men, in addition to walking around in some pretty form-fitting period clothes, must also express themselves from an early '60s version of womanhood which was restrictive in a different way.
Which brings me to Elisabeth Moss, who plays Peggy Olson, the lone female copywriter in a testosterone-saturated office full of arrogant ad men. Playing the game — while performing femininity as it's expected — Peggy keeps her cool and holds her own against the big boys.

We've heard about the he-cession and how the economic downturn has affected men's mental health perhaps even more than it has women's.
One writer goes further and says that all of this bad news for men is just paving the way for the death of macho as we know it. Macho arrogance got us into a lot of this global financial mess, he reasons, and its exit stage left will get us out of it.
