Robbie and Ayda Arrive In LA After Focusing On France

Robbie Williams and his girlfriend Ayda Field arrived in Los Angeles last night after he finished up his promotion commitments in France for his new single "Bodies". We saw Robbie in Paris earlier this week as he made his way from his hotel in his pyjamas while carrying a lightsaber, and he still injected a little fun into his outfit at the airport with some brightly coloured sunglasses! NRJ radio played host to Robbie while he was in France and they filmed the interview, which has Robbie speaking French, catching up with David Ginola, and re-extending an invite to his house to Tom Jones. It sounds like he's happy both in his personal life with Ayda, and being back in the spotlight with his new music!

Comic Relief "Islands In The Stream" - Spin It or Sling It?

Gavin And Stacey's Rob Brydon and Ruth Jones take the lead on the Comic Relief charity single this year as their characters Bryn and Nessa, recreating their duet from the series "Islands In The Stream". This time around though, they're in America for a karaoke contest and they've got some help from living legend Tom Jones!

The single is out on Monday (March 9), it's for a great cause and the video made me laugh thanks to the implications of a past between Nessa and Tom, so check it out and let me know - will you spin it or sling it?

The Stars Pull Out All The Stops For The Brits Show

Last night we were treated to some awesome performances at the Brit Awards. U2 opened the show before hosts Kylie Minogue, James Corden and Mathew Horne had us laughing out loud with their outfits and dancing. Girls Aloud brought slinky costumes and pink feathers to the stage to perform the Best British Single "The Promise", while Kings of Leon rocked out, Chris Martin and Coldplay were covered in ticker tape, and Take That descended on a central pod wearing glasses. You can see videos of all their performances after the jump.

Major winner of the night Duffy showed off her hand gestures during "Warwick Avenue", which I commented on in my live blog with Scandalist. There were also fantastic collaborations between Estelle and The Ting Tings, plus the Pet Shop Boys with Lady GaGa and Brandon Flowers. Check out the videos of both and let me know which you prefer.

The Boys Bring Out Their Best For The Brits Red Carpet

It was smiles all round for the men on the red carpet at the Brit Awards tonight. Host for the ceremony Mathew Horne followed the women's lead in his suit with on-trend blue highlights, while his partner in crime James Corden kept it cool and classic. Will Young smartened up his casual jeans with a cute white waistcoat, while Gok Wan and the legend that is David Hasselhoff went for the all-black look. Alan Carr brought some colour to the red carpet as well as some laughs, posing with a lookalike in the crowd! Ruth and Rob Record For Comic Relief!

Comic Relief 2009 launched today, with Ruth Jones, Rob Brydon and Joanna Page taking centre stage at the event in Leicester Square. They were sporting the classic red noses, with a slightly new design for 2009, alongside other celebs like The Saturdays, Jo Brand, Claudia Winkleman, Steve Jones and Alesha Dixon. Rob and Ruth have recorded a special version of their classic Gavin and Stacey song moment "Islands In The Stream" to release as the single for this year's Comic Relief night of music and mayhem which will fall on 13 March this year.

They went to Las Vegas to record the video and Tom Jones and Bee Gees singer Robin Gibb guest star! Rob's pretty well-known for his hilarious Tom Jones impersonation, and this is what he said about recording with him:

"I was really looking forward to it because I think I can sing a bit. But, I got really nervous when we were there because a proper recording studio is very unforgiving of your voice. It's not like singing in the bathroom, you hear every little imperfection. Then they tart it up a bit for you."

I can't wait to hear it, can you?!

London Meets Wales At Post Q Awards Pub Party

After the awards were given out at the Q Awards ceremony yesterday, a bunch of the attending stars headed to a Mayfair pub to drink and celebrate. Tom Jones and Cerys Matthews left hand in hand at the end of the evening, while Alexa Chung and Alex Turner hopped in a cab to make their journey home. Kelly Jones brought his pint of Guinness outside to toast the photographers with a massive grin across his face, and the Ting Tings and Sugababes' Amelle Berrabah also popped outside to pose. Looks like a fun night was had by all!

It's A Double For Coldplay At The Q Awards

The Grosvenor House Hotel in London played host to the 2008 Q Awards yesterday, presented by Alan Carr and attracting an eclectic mix of acts from the music industry. Coldplay were the big winners, and picked up awards for Viva La Vida Or Death And All His Friends as Best Album and also Best Act In The World Today. Duffy won Best Breakthrough Act at the ceremony, but picked up her award via video link.

The Kaiser Chiefs picked up Best Live Act, and there were awards for the classics too. Meat Loaf picked up a gong for the classic "Bat Out Of Hell" for the Classic Song category - no argument there - and the Outstanding Contribution To Music Award went to former Pink Floyd guitarist David Gilmour.
