There are so many silly dating games that people play in order not to look too eager or worse, desperate. I knew a married woman who carried her playing hard to get into her marriage! I was shocked when she told me that she never, ever called her husband; she waited for him to call her and took her sweet time getting back to him.

Is going through someone's text messages OK if you suspect he's up to no good? That was the question on The Hills this week: Heidi goes through Spencer's text messages, finds a text from a bartender he'd been flirting with, and promptly deletes it. In therapy, all Spencer can talk about is how Heidi shouldn't have gone through his phone.

American Idol may let you text in your vote, but Estonia will be the first actual country to implement voting by cell phone. Technologically-savvy citizens will place chips into their cell phones, that authenticate identifications, before they cast their ballots for the 2011 parliamentary election.
Estonia has already used online voting, without any major security breaches.

Pope Benedict XVI plans to send out spiritual text messages to thousands of young Catholics during World Youth Day this summer. 200,000 young people are expected to attend the six day event in Sydney, Australia. The entire WYD08 is going Web 2.0 by broadcasting religious teachings on the web and setting up a social networking site.

When I opened my mail the other day, I was totally bummed to find that I had been summoned to jury duty. Not that I don't what to perform my civic requirements and what not, but knowing I can't bring a laptop (or even a book) into the waiting area of the courthouse, I know I will be bored with a capital B.
So when I came across this Interactive Text Messaging Game, I thought it might be just the thing I need.

Having started a group called Cell Phone Rant, I'm fairly sure you know where I stand on cell phones at the dinner table: Emergency situations permitted only. However, being that text messaging is newer than cell phones and some people think it's less obtrusive to be "quietly" typing, I hate it.
Maybe it's because I'm old, but when my little sister whips out her phone and is click-click-clacking to someone else, I get irritated and offended — when you're with someone, be with them.

Do you know anyone that functions without a cell phone? I don't and according to a recent study by the Pew Research Center, in 2007, 81 percent of the U.S. population owned a cell phone, a 20 percent increase compared to 2002.
