This week, Peter and Pauline said good-bye to the So You Think You Can Dance stage. The tapper and the jazz dancer who had also been partners took some time this morning to talk about their experiences on the show with a few reporters.
Peter:
- On how great of a venue the show is for tap: I think it was time for tap to be on the show, and I definitely think that So You Think You Can Dance needs more of it.

It wouldn't be season six of So You Think You Can Dance without an episode stretching things out a liiiittle longer before the competition, but Monday night's special, the one-off "Meet the Top 20," was actually a fun respite between auditions and competition. We were treated to an evening of the dancers performing in their own style, with no voting or judging taking place yet (that'll happen tonight, in the two-hour competition and voting blitz).
But just because no official voting began doesn't mean that we viewers weren't judging ourselves — I relished the opportunity to see everyone in their own style of dancing, because it's a level playing field.

I had semi-cynical feelings about the remake of Fame when I first heard it was being cast, but flash ahead two years later, and the trailer has me kind of pumped to see it on Friday. The music numbers look flashy, and it's got So You Think You Can Dance alum Kherington Payne, so I fully expect to be toe-tapping in my seat.
But here's the dilemma: I also really loved the original Fame.

Along with learning to play guitar and ballroom dance, Teri Hatcher explained that running in a triathlon was on her "bucket list." I am not sure how the guitar or the dancing are coming along, but her "bucket list" will soon be one item shorter, because Teri was tapped by Disney, parent company for her show Desperate Housewives, to lead a team at the upcoming Nautica Malibu Triathlon. The race is scheduled for September 13, and Terri has upped her regular training.

When Joaquin Phoenix became an unintentional astronaut in Space Camp what child didn't pack their bags and ask their parents to sign them up? For nature lovers there are log cabin camps with mess halls and communal showers. For the youngster destined to take the stage as a triple threat there are getaways that offer vocal, dance and acting lessons.

As part of my New Year's resolutions, I vowed to try new things, so there I was — barefoot and in a room full of happy, chatty ladies, about to take a Nia class for the first time. I was excited because I had heard it integrated some of my favorite movements: dance, martial arts, and yoga. Once the music started, the instructor began demonstrating some simple movements to open the body.

President Bush got back in the speech saddle this week, telling an invitation-only crowd in Canada that he doesn't plan on attacking his successor because Obama deserves his silence.
Apparently content with letting Cheney do the criticizing, Bush said: There's plenty of critics in the arena, I think it's time for the ex-president to tap dance off the stage and let the current president have a go at solving the world's problems. If he wants my help and I agree with him, I'll give it.
