Christina rocked some suuuuuper high heels out in the LA sun this week (seriously, those Olsens have nothing on her) and, gotta say, she looked damn fine doing it. Her movie Black Snake Moan comes out this weekend, and though it has gotten bizarrely decent reviews (we hear it's also pretty boring), I'm not sure I could watch it without giggling the whole time. Hey, I never said I was mature.

China put on a spectacular goodbye to the 2008 Beijing Olympics. David Beckham and a red double-decker bus made appearances, helping China pass the torch to London, which will hold the games in 2012. David wasn't the only star shining among the many fireworks; Leona Lewis and Led Zeppelin guitarist Jimmy Page also entertained the athletes and spectators.

Structure, rubber, and slits: That's what Balenciaga Fall 2008 is made of.
Although the collection had continuity from previous seasons — cocoon-shaped jackets, cropped fitted pants, and greyscale color — surprises still abounded. Pearl-encrusted and rhinestone costume jewelry draped around necklines and wrists, deconstructed velvet bandage tops popped in primary colors, and hand-painted warrior armor closed the show.

You're never really sure what to expect from a Dame Vivienne Westwood collection. Her show in London a few weeks ago was surprisingly tame and despite the occasional placard wasn't too political. This show, which was presented in the French capital last night contained plenty of references to Westwood's Eco concerns.

Fashion Week is over, but Kate Bosworth was still setting the trends on the streets of NYC, this time slipping out of her cute dresses and into her high-waisted jeans. It almost makes petite Kate look like she is standing tall on stilts. Kate has been flying solo at all the runway shows, but still made time for her cute boyfriend James Rousseau.
