She looks so happy checking her email in her Ikea-esque room! Too bad if she was actually in Sweden, she'd be hopping mad that her government was checking her email for her. A new law that provides the Swedish government the right to read all emails and listen to all phone calls crossing the country’s borders has outraged its citizens — who've harnessed build-your-own-irony and filed 2 million protests — online.

Yesterday, an American mechanical engineer for a US Army weapons center was arrested for disclosing classified defense information to none other than our own allies, the Israelis.
Ben-Ami Kadish is being accused of acting as an illegal agent (read: spy) for the Israelis from 1979 to 2008 without notifying anyone in the US Attorney General’s office. Between 1979 and 1985, it is alleged that Kadish took classified documents to his home in New Jersey where his contact (code named CC-1) would photograph the sensitive material.

Growing up, I would have been mortified if my parents had read my diary where I divulged crushes and friendship woes. It was my personal way to journal the experiences.
Nowadays, many parents spy without having to sneak under beds or between mattresses.

Trying to get someone to "act natural" in front of a camera is like trying to perfect my costume for a Halloween party: I try, but am never 100 percent believable. With most folks, there's always a bit of apprehension that keeps you from getting that perfect photojournalistic (read: candid) shot, but this little gadget may help you out in that department.
The Super Secret Spy Lens ($50) has a discreet side cutout, fashioned with a precise inner mirror so it looks like you're aiming straight ahead, but are really capturing images on the sly.

Look, I'm not about to condone fanny packs, and I definitely recognize that the Spi Gadget Belt Bag ($20), meant to carry your cell phone or iPod, looks, well, related to the much maligned bags.
The thing is, though, it looks like the perfect workout accessory. I run, and if it's cold out, I put my iPhone in my jacket, but if it's warm, I have to wear it in my armband, which is pretty uncomfortable.

From the way this clip is titled and conducted, it sounds like they're pushing this SIM Card Spy device as a good thing, but I can't help but be anything but horrified. You insert anyone's SIM card from their cell phone into the SIM Spy, and every single text message — including deleted ones — shows up when you plug the SIM Spy's USB into your computer.
Even if you have nothing to hide, this product seems completely violating.

UK retailer Habitat's modern décor may not be available to an American like me, but I can still appreciate the nostalgic I Spy-like imagery on their home page. Is it me or is this triptych chaotically beautiful? If the resolution were good enough, I'd print it out, frame it, and hang it.

What do spies of yesteryear have in common with the Fox Mulders, James Bonds and Veronica Mars' of today? A sincere love of gadgets. Bonhams recently auctioned off this tiny, "nickel plated, engine turned, hunter type pocket watch case," which once opened reveals an internally sprung six section telescopic lens tubes with internal meniscus lens and front mounted simple, hand turned, rotary shutter (i.e a camera).

This Fendi Large Sequin Spy Bag, $4,890, has just been attacked by a swarm of sequins and it doesn't look pretty.
