When it comes to pioneering special effects, James Cameron is picking up where Peter Jackson left off. Twentieth Century Fox announced today that the Titanic director will return to the big screen with Avatar. The flick, which starts shooting in April for a 2009 release, is a return to Cameron's sci-fi roots, telling the story of an ex-Marine settling an exotic planet.

As I know from firsthand experience, it's easy to spend a small fortune on hairstyling products. After all, salon products are pricey, and it's hard to know if they work unless you try them a few times. One of my stalwarts is Dirt Texturizing Paste by Jonathan Product, which is designed to give your hair a slightly dirty look.

Now that New Moon's record-breaking opening weekend is over, it's time to dish on the film. I already gave you my review, pointing out that I think the sequel is better than the original. In my opinion, the film's special effects and acting are far superior than what we see in Twilight, though Edward and Bella's whirlwind romance is better showcased in the first film.

Let's be honest: for most of you, it doesn't matter what I — or any critics for that matter — have to say about New Moon, the incredibly anticipated sequel to last year's Twilight. The film started breaking box office records before it was even released, and audiences will flock to the theaters for weeks to come. On the plus side, a ticket to New Moon is a win even if you're not a Twihard — provided that you know what you're getting into.

With All Hallows' coming on apace, I got to thinking about fakey colored and crazy special effects contacts. I went through a phase where I had, alternately, violet, hazel, and dark blue eyes, and while it was fun, the people around me didn't seem to think it was as awesome as I did. I've even worn special effects contacts (they were cat's eyes for Halloween) and I thought they were pretty fun.
