After signing two bills into law this week, President Bush said that he could bypass numerous parts of the laws. Last week, President Bush declared that he has the power to bypass four laws, including a prohibition against using taxpayer money to establish permanent US military bases in Iraq.
After signing the National Defense Authorization Act, Bush unilaterally asserted that four sections of the act infringe on his powers, and therefore he is not bound to them.
Wasting no time, and in the face of this recent law, Bush is currently negotiating a long-term agreement with Iraqi Prime Minister al-Maliki.

The original jingles for FreeCreditReport.com couldn't save the website from getting scrutinized by the law. The credit card reform bill signals a score of changes for the credit card industry and more, as demonstrated by the action taken against the scammy credit report site.
Notoriously, FreeCreditReport.com advertised its ironically named service through commercials that led consumers to believe credit reports ordered on the site were actually free.

Consumers have been playing by credit card companies' rules, and now the companies are going to have to play by the president's rules. President Obama is expected to sign new credit card legislation known as the Credit Card Accountability, Responsibility and Disclosure Act, which Congress approved Wednesday in a 361-to-64 vote. The legislation will reform the way credit card companies run their businesses, affecting everything from interest rate policies to gift cards.

Following her skiing accident in Montreal, it's been reported that Brit actress Natasha Richardson is brain dead.
The terribly sad news was given to a People reporter by a family friend on Tuesday night. They said, "There is no chance, it is a fact that her heart is beating, but she is brain dead."
