It's another day, another country for that New Moon trio Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner as they attended a photo call at Villa Magna Hotel in Madrid this afternoon. The gang are now in Spain as part of their European tour, which started in Paris and stopped off in London yesterday. Rob and Taylor kept with their smart casual clothes while Kristen rocked an edgy black outfit.

It was Rock week on The X Factor this week, where Lucie Jones looked rather like Kristen Stewart during her performance of "Sweet Child of Mine" and John & Edward divided opinion yet again with their version of "We Will Rock You"! Danyl Johnson's confidence was very obviously knocked by being in the bottom two last week, and his performance was pretty shaky, but the public brought him back. Bon Jovi and JLS performed on tonight's show as we waited for the results, which brought surprisingly bad news for Rachel Adedeji and Lloyd Daniels, who were the bottom two in the public vote after their performances on Saturday.

Tonight, do yourself a favor and watch Mitch McCabe's excellent documentary, Youth Knows No Pain. (It airs tonight at 9 p.m. on HBO, and it is great.) American Idol mixed things up again yesterday by bringing in a new ingredient — duets — for Rock and Roll night with Slash as the mentor. Adam Lambert kicked the night off with a bang singing "Whole Lotta Love." No surprise, the man knows how to perform his bell-bottom pants off.

It's Grand Ole Opry week on American Idol, which meant time for everyone to bring out their best country voices — other than Adam Lambert, who decided sitar music was in order. Let's start with the low points. Michael Sarver kicked off the night in an utterly forgettable way, and while he's cute, it might be back to the oil rigs for him.

Diddy's 39th birthday party at Mansion in New York last night was packed with his famous friends, and the celebration was doubly sweet after Barack Obama's Tuesday night win. The bday boy himself waved a patriotic American flag before mugging for the cameras with his buddy Jay-Z. While Beyonce found time to express her post-election patriotism, she'll be performing at the Europe MTV Awards tonight so the party was a no go.

As I told you earlier, Britney Spears won three awards last night, sweeping the board at the 2008 MTV Video Music Awards. After her cringeworthy comeback performance last year, it felt like this year she'd finally got it all together — she looked stunning in her mini-dress as she opened the show with a skit featuring Jonah Hill (UK readers, you can watch it all unfold on MTV tonight from 8pm). Rihanna, T.I, Christina Aguilera and the Jonas Brothers also put on some memorable performances, with Pink's spectacle of a performance standing out as a particular highlight.
