OK, not that Chewbacca. A red panda named Chewbacca at the National Zoo fathered two pandas who were recently born at another zoo in Tennessee. He missed their delivery, but hey — it was a one-night stand, and the zookeepers put him up to it.

Holy guacamole. This red panda looks like he's dancing a jig! I wish I knew what the story was behind this.

Definitely one of this year's furry animals that save the day, this cute mama dog got a couple Red Panda cubs (kits?) to care for after their own mother abandoned them soon after birth. She performed the perfunctory sniff-and-greet before welcoming the lil ones to nurse. See one more pic of how well they warmed up to the doggie when you read more

The last time we saw Red Pandas, a loving pup was nursing a pair of newborns back to health. But at the Lincoln Children's Zoo, it's a human that stepped in to save the day this time. A tiny babe born to a milk-less mama is being hand-fed by zookeepers in order to stay alive.

I'll get straight to the cute scoop: Meet Denver's new quadruplet Red Panda cubs, only the fifth recorded quad birth at a US zoo! The yet unnamed three boys and one girl entered the world on July 9 but the tiny creatures made a whole lotta racket at their big media debut.

Sadly the Red Panda we saw in that adorable video passed away yesterday. If you don't recall, the abandoned baby was taking up with surrogate mommy – a tabby – after being rejected but her own mother.

A Red Panda is neither a raccoon nor a bear so should we call these creatures cubs or kits? Whatever you prefer to label the babes, don't forget to add in adoro. The very endangered species often has untraditional caretakers – this time staff at China's Giant Panda Research Center successfully nurtured eight of ten newborns, making it the fifth year in a row that this unit helped these animals pass the critical stage after birth.

They've done it again. And, by they, I mean Sydney's Taronga Zoo. Home to the insanely adorable Pygmy Hippo named Monifa, this Australian zoo welcomes a new babe to their clique of cute.

As if the pictures weren't enough cuteness, there's now a video of four frolicking kittens – and one red panda! – for our viewing pleasure. Looks like the closed-eye cub has no problem climbing up on the cats to find his way to the food.

Holy moly, I don't think I can handle any more helpful kitties – my heart is melting with the latest tale. Although it's hard to tell what's going on in these pictures, it's actually a Red Panda (BTW, my favorite wild animal in the world) being nursed by a Dutch tabby cat! The baby's mother, Gladys,
