I already told you that werewolves were the new vampires, and I have evidence in spades: first, news broke that there's a movie adaptation in the works of wolf romance novel Shiver, and today comes the news that '80s werewolf thriller The Howling will be remade as The Howling: Reborn. But like vampires, werewolves aren't anything new — and to prove it, check out my list of some of the best werewolf characters in pop culture.

Who says the newborn you fawn over has to be real? This Jezebel post about the British trend of childless women spending a pretty penny for life-like dolls that they push around in prams and tend to as their own frightened me.
Especially the clips from the documentary about the "moms," called My Fake Baby.

Five years may be a short prison sentence, but that's 36 years in cat time. Way too long for Peter Koenig, a German inmate who wants to see his mother while serving a five-year sentence for armed robbery. One small, furry problem, though.

Thanks to AT:NY, I've been turned on to the turned wood trend. You might be thinking that these shapes are a thing of the past—and you're right, they date back to at least 1300 BC. Rodarte is my favourite New York based design house. Their presentation is always a highlight for me, and Spring 2010 did not disappoint. I was completely in love with Autumn '09 (especially those boots) and struggled to imagine how the girls would top it, but they definitely developed their designs and you could see the progression within their work.

Swinging sixties designer Ossie Clark was on every London girl's wish list back in the day: his full sleeves, scoop necks, and romantic prints were all swoonworthy. Unfortunately, his life took a turn for the worse: in 1983, he went bankrupt and was eventually killed by a former lover in 1996. Tragic really.

Last week I showed you that old mouse pads needn't be tossed in the trash or Goodwill pile — they can be re-born as coasters. On that same token, the soft squishy fabric is great for a number of uses around the house.
If you've got a table or chair that's semi-wobbly, cut a small piece of an old mouse pad to fit under the wobbly leg.
