Ruh roh! Looks like Mom found somebody's stash. Here comes the maternal rebuke!
College Humor tells us that the guy calling 911 and freaking out because he ate pot brownies was a cop. Best lines? "Time is going by really, really, really slow" and "Please come...I think we're dying.
This ad for the English ramen noodle product, Pot Noodle (click here for one of their naughty ads), shows some guy crooning and dancing about how he wishes girls were more like these noodles: "freeze dried, quick, and done in a jiffy." Interesting. My favorite junk-food snack, nachos, are very much like the dudes I meet: cheap, cheesy, and totally bad for you.
This firefighter got a whiff or two (or A LOT) of some home grown marijuana while trying to extinguish a house fire. No big deal. It's a perk of the job, right?
What could go wrong? Well, for one thing, Sonny (RIP) looks stoned out of his mind. Is he speaking slowly because he really wants to get his message across, or because he just smoked a fattie?
Why aren't American commercials as out there as European ones? In this ad for "Pot Noodle," which I guess is like "Cup 'o Noodles," a man is bored with his wife's plain sandwiches. (Let that sink in for a sec.) Okay.
A newly single Reese Witherspoon puts a New Age spin on the age old ritual of "washing that man right out of your hair." Using a neti pot, a small ceramic vessel that contains a warm salt-water solution, she demonstrates that you can cure a variety of ailments--allergies, insomnia, and maybe even grief from a cheating ex-spouse--by putting water through one nostril and letting it flow out the other one. Hey, whatever works!
Among the many reasons to see Revolutionary Road — stellar performances, dark humor, a haunting story — I managed to find another: the stunning interiors inhabited by Frank and April Wheeler (played by Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet). Set in 1955, the movie, much like Mad Men, captures a bygone era with authentic pieces that still look oh-so-stylish.
I found myself coveting just about every chair in the Wheelers' living room, not to mention the adorable accents in their kitchen.
While life in North Korea isn't a laughing matter, tough times have given birth to a unique sense of humor. According to defectors who have escaped Kim Jong Il's tight grip, jokes in the Stalinist country revolved around the regime, or the male reaction to women working outside the home to help families scrape by.
Here are some examples pulled together from Radio Free Asia.
In anticipation of Top Design's second season, I recently had the chance to participate in a conference call with the new host, celebrated fashion model and design aficionado India Hicks, as well as world-renowned designer Todd Oldham, who has a moved over to a new role as the contestants' mentor.
