Jennifer Lopez and birthday boy Marc Anthony were all smiles yesterday on Capitol Hill, where they met with Nancy Pelosi and the Congressional Hispanic Caucus in the afternoon before bringing the twins by to check out the White House. That night, Speaker of the House Pelosi presented Marc with a Lifetime Achievement Award as his wife proudly joined him on stage. President Obama and Michelle also came by to honor Justice Sonia Sotomayor, who chatted with Jennifer and Marc as they all celebrated Latin culture in the US.

— Nancy Pelosi questioned the legitimacy of people protesting healthcare reform yesterday. Those opposed to the reform proposed by Democratic lawmakers are carrying out protests inside townhall meetings being held by Democratic members of Congress in their home districts this Summer.

Nancy Pelosi might be one of the most powerful women in the United States, but she's not the most well liked. The Speaker of the House's favorability rating sits at 32 percent, while her unfavorability rating comes in at 48 percent. In other words: more people dislike Nancy Pelosi than like her.

After arriving at the capitol building in DC earlier today, Brad Pitt ditched his sunglasses and showed of those baby blues to discuss the Make It Right Campaign. Even Nancy Pelosi couldn't resist flashing him a smile as they walked and talked together. Once inside, Brad expressed his gratitude for the recognition of his project, saying, "I just want to say thank you to the speaker for opening up her doors for us to come in and discuss the rebuilding effort, the current rebuilding effort going on in New Orleans and how we can expand this idea of affordability and sustainability because we think we have a model that works."

Barack Obama isn't the only person with a housing plan. Brad Pitt is set to meet House Speaker Nancy Pelosi to talk about his Make It Right Project. Brad will have Nancy's ear tomorrow afternoon, to share details of the project he launched in 2007 with the intention of building affordable and environmentally safe homes for residents of New Orleans' Ninth Ward who lost their homes in Hurricane Katrina.

Speaker Nancy Pelosi has shared some criticism with Rachel Maddow about both the Bush and Obama administrations. According to Salon, Pelosi told Maddow, during an interview to be aired tonight, that she favors criminal prosecutions for the Bush administration and not just a fact-finding truth commission.
Pelosi apparently tells Maddow: Senator Leahy has a proposal, a Truth and Reconciliation Commission, which is a good idea.
