If you've ever looked at Craigslist's Missed Connections, you know just how many people are seeking out that certain someone they locked eyes with on the subway, at the grocery store, or at the airport but never got the chance to speak to. An article written today on Cnn.com explained this phenomenon perfectly: Craigslist, Kizmeet.com, ISawYou.com, SubwayCrush.com — these missed-opportunity matchmakers have become a staple of online modern love. They've also become a way for some singles to fantasize about the people they'd like to meet and those they hope will want to meet them.

Have you ever spied your dream lover in the frozen food section of Trader Joe's but were too shy to start a conversation or flirt? Maybe you were moved to post a prose poem on Craigslist's oddball "Missed Connections" section, writing to that person in the hopes that they would read your true feelings, remember who the hell you were, and contact you.

Recently FitSugar reader mamasitamalita wrote in to ask about her friend who works out while buzzed. Apparently it's more common than I thought, and it's not the only thing people are doing before hitting the gym. An anonymous reader commented
"Sometimes, every once in a while, I will get stoned before yoga or a long run — it helps me to calm down and focus on the task at hand, rather than obsessing about work or personal stresses."

What do you get when you take a former drag queen and a doctor to a 200-year-old farm? Beekman 1802, a concept that aims to get people connecting with old-timey pleasures such as cooking, gardening, and crafting. Writer Josh Kilmer-Purcell and physician Brent Ridge (a former VP at Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia) live on a farm estate in upstate New York, where — among other things — they have a line of handmade soaps ($12.50/set of two) made with milk from the farm's freely grazing goats.

If getting paid to tweet sounds pretty sweet, you're in luck. An increasing number of companies are creating positions with the primary responsibility of tweeting all day long and in some cases, the job description includes posting on Facebook, too. Businesses are recognizing they're missing out on connecting with customers through these social networking sites and are willing to pay someone to manage that portion of their customer service.

Last year, beauty brands hoped that black lips would be big. Unless I missed out on a convention of Bauhaus fans, the sooty-kiss look wasn't an enormous success — going dark just didn't work for most women. Will this season be different?
