The American Music Awards promised us big-name musical acts, and it delivered. I was there for every moment from the red carpet to the press room to the closing performance (a very jaw-dropping routine by Adam Lambert). Taylor Swift dominated the honors, and I've already shared the full list of winners; now, I'm here to bring you all of the other highlights from the evening - including the stuff you didn't see. Girls and Guys Get Glam For the American Music Awards!

The American Music Awards took place last night in Los Angeles, celebrating the best in US music from the past 12 months! Taylor Swift was the big winner of the night, dominating the female categories and getting gongs for favourite artist in both pop and country categories as well as beating Michael Jackson to the huge award - Artist of the Year. Taylor's in London at the moment and missed the ceremony, but Michael's family Jermaine and Janet were at the ceremony and picked up the late singer's four awards.

Country act Gloriana were shocked to beat Lady GaGa to Breakthrough Artist award, while Twilight picked up yet another award for Favourite Soundtrack. Performers included Whitney Houston, Jay-Z, Black Eyed Peas, Shakira, Rihanna, Lady GaGa as well as a performance by Adam Lambert that's got everyone talking - see why under the cut!

TV Tonight: The American Music Awards

This has been a huge year for music so far: Taylor Swift has won every trophy imaginable, Whitney Houston is staging her comeback, and Michael Jackson is still topping the charts, even after his death. Perhaps that's why tonight's American Music Awards sounds even better than in the past - and I'll be at the show to bring you all of the exciting moments!

Let's go over what to expect from the evening. First off, the performances. There are so many big-name acts I honestly can't choose which is my favorite. Janet Jackson is opening the first eight minutes, but The Black Eyed Peas, Kelly Clarkson, Jay-Z and Alicia Keys, Lady Gaga, Adam Lambert, Rihanna, and Carrie Underwood are taking the stage, too, among others. (I cannot wait to see what over-the-top spectacle Gaga has up her bedazzled sleeve!) As for the awards, everyone will be watching to see if Michael Jackson earns a posthumous statue; he's up for five categories, bested only by Taylor Swift who is in the running for six.

Man in the Mirror or Plain Old Ultrasound?

Ultrasounds can provide parents a mixed bag of emotions. Initially, parents are psyched to see their wee one in the womb - even if he does look like a tiny tadpole. As the weeks progress and his face starts to form, the images can start to look a little freaky deaky, if not adorable. Instead of appearing like the doll one might envision, moms and dads may be surprised to see an alien face staring at them. When one British couple went for an ultrasound of their seventh child, they swore they saw the late Michael Jackson's face in the black and white image. The dad said, "We were looking at the pictures again, and I just saw Jacko there."

Take a look at the photo and tell me, is this like any ordinary ultrasound or do you think there's a hint of the deceased pop star in this woman's womb?

Who Is Your Professional Idol?

I finally dished out $10 (well, $24 if you count my popcorn, candy and soda!) to see This Is It, and while it was fascinating to see Michael Jackson's backstage persona on the job, I was particularly struck by the awe his backup dancers had for him. The documentary opens with an emotional scene of the crew sharing their audition tales - shot before MJ's death - and throughout the film we see the chosen few standing stage left grooving to Michael's sound checks. It's clear from their tears, stories, and smiles that the dancers worship his professional history. Do you look up to any one person in your work life for their talent, career, or success in your field?
