Pollen and cat fur are not my friends, and when I become so stuffed up I can't smell a thing, I turn to my neti pot. It looks like a little teapot. You fill it with warm salt water, place the spout in one nostril and as the water passes through your nasal passages and comes out the other nostril; it helps get rid of irritants and mucus so you can breathe easier.

Reader Bailaoragaditana had plenty of positive things to say about Lipstick Queen Medieval Lipstick ($20), so I'll let her take it from here:
The name, the picture, the color, the backstory, and some rave reviews convinced me to buy it, but when I did, it was love at first try! Since Medieval is ostensibly a lip stain, it's quite sheer, but still very red — a confounding combination that I simply adore, as I can get away with wearing red and looking completely natural at the same time, which I never thought would be possible. It's actually much more balm-y than stain-y.

After a pre-birthday party, the usual Primrose Hill set of Sadie Frost, Davinia Taylor, Meg Matthews and James Brown joined Kate Moss on Friday night to help celebrate the model's 35th birthday. Her medieval-themed party was quite the meat-fest with a roast suckling pig to go with the fur rugs and hunting trophies of animal heads which adorned the walls: vegetarian Stella McCartney was unsurprisingly unimpressed. The birthday girl was treated to fun times at the Dorchester Hotel, courtesy of Philip Green, and Jamie Hince commissioned a French graffiti artist to style Kate's walls.

Last week I revealed the first part of my interview with handbag designer Janet Collin. She is responsible for such classic bags as the Mulberry Jacquetta, Keira, Cassidy and Eastwood. Read the second part of my interview here where she discusses chosing names for bags, launching her own line and what she carried in her own handbag.

When I think of my mom's youth, I imagine it looks something like this — all wholesome fun and bouncy music. I'm not sure why these youngsters are celebrating at what appears to be Medieval Times, or why it looks like Bela Lugosi is helping the birthday girl with her cake, but you have to admit, the song's pretty snazzy — a word my mom used in her youth and beyond.

While having a junior is just about as traditional as it gets, some parents try to preserve family names without duplicating them. Instead of choosing dad or mom's moniker, they may select the name of a relative from a different era or a derivative of a name. My middle name is Hart, my great-grandmother's maiden name.

Are the British aiming to squash free speech? Robert Murat, an official suspect in the Madeleine McCann case, has settled his libel case against several British newspapers for overconnecting him to her disappearance with headlines like "Sex Secret of Madeleine Suspect: Briton ‘Shared’ the Wife of Pool Cleaner at Villa." His pay out is thought to be close to $1 million.
