A fork and knife can only go so far when cutting up your lil one's meals. Once your baby moves beyond pureed food and you find yourself cutting up everything she eats into bite sized pieces, you may notice that forks and knives can really destroy the food you serve. The cheese starts falling off of the crust of the pizza, the breading slides off of the chicken nuggets and in the end you are left with an unappetizing plate of scraps.

A sucker for dairy products, my babe loves to take down a grilled cheese sandwich for lunch. Instead of cutting it in half with a pickle in between, I like to add some commotion to the meal. And by that, I mean locomotion.

Apple cider vinegar and fresh ginger add zing, while a handful of walnuts add meatiness and crunch.
