Until I saw this trailer mashup, I never realized how much Home Alone and I Am Legend have in common. The last human on earth last kid in the house getting terrorized by zombies Daniel Stern . .

When you use Google Maps, the distance you're getting from point A to B is in driving, walking, or public transportation terms. But, if you just need to find the distance between two points on a map, then check out this cool Google Map mashup: Distance From To. It works just like Google Maps where you put in your starting and ending point, and gives you exact distance in kilometers and miles, but leaves out all that messy info like turn-by-turn directions and traffic.

There's no doubt about it mashup sites provide a unique and pleasurable website experience by combining services of two sites into one. For example, Flickrvision is a mashup site that displays the pictures people across the world are posting on Flickr on a map, while MapsKrieg.com combines Google Maps and the housing listings on Craigslist.org.
This week, Wired Magazine's Alt Text blog put out a ploy for more innovative mashup sites that would help trim our bookmark menus by combining popular domains.

The new Seven Wonders Of The World were just announced in an official ceremony last week, but the Google mashups have begun!
Mibazaar has created a Google Maps View (along with video from YouTube) of the new wonders, which include India's Taj Mahal, Great Wall of China, Petra in Jordan, Brazil's statue of Christ the Redeemer, Peru's Machu Picchu, Mexico's Chichen Itza pyramid and The Colosseum in Rome. You can explore all the wonders without hopping on a plane (although I suggest you do that too!) by watching the videos accompanying each site.

This video is so amazing I'm almost hyperventilating from its genius. It takes an infamous episode from The Brady Bunch featuring poor Jan wearing a hideous wig and mashes it up with Brian De Palma's '70s horror masterpiece Carrie — complete with his signature split-screen shots. Two great tastes that taste great together!

The sound of a baby crying may be one of the most agitating sounds out there. But the sound of a baby gurgling, cooing, hiccupping, and giggling? Music to my ears!
