The family company known for its "no more tears" shampoo has been asked by 40 parent, healthcare, and environmental organizations to remove known chemicals from its products by the end of the year. One report said:
The Campaign for Safe Cosmetics reported in March that it found Johnson & Johnson's Baby Shampoo and other children's products contained formaldehyde and 1,4-dioxane, both of which have been found to cause cancer in animals and listed by the Environmental Protection Agency as probable human carcinogens.
A Johnson & Johnson representative said the trace levels were considered safe by some regulatory agencies.

So it turns out that you really can't believe everything you read. One of the UK's best-selling anti-wrinkle creams has been told it will have to scrap it's adverts after advertising watchdogs ruled them 'misleading'. Well-known brand Johnson & Johnson have been ordered to remove the newspaper adverts for RoC Complete Lift cream after the ruling that there was no evidence that the cream reduced wrinkles.

Pro-Tibet groups are joining together to call out the corporate sponsors of the Beijing Olympics. The groups say that unless the companies use their influence to pressure China, they are complicit in a humanitarian disaster.
Twelve global sponsors, including Coca Cola, General Electric, McDonald's, Visa, Johnson & Johnson and Omega have paid a combined $80 million for the four year exclusive sponsorship deal.

Aaron Johnson and Sam Taylor-Wood recently announced their engagement, and now the movie that brought them together is set to come out. Nowhere Boy is the story of John Lennon's childhood, featuring Angus, Thongs and Perfect Snogging's Aaron in the lead role, and directed by artist Sam Taylor-Wood. Hot off the heels of her 30th anniversary last year, the designer is in the midst of creating a vintage line, dubbed Betsey Johnson Archive, filled with styles from her past collections. To help her choose the pick of the litter, Johnson enlisted Opening Ceremony designers Humberto Leon and Carol Lim.

Aaron Johnson and Sam Taylor-Wood are engaged! The 19 year old actor you may have seen in Angus, Thongs and Perfect Snogging and 42 year old artist Sam met when she cast him in her debut feature film Nowhere Boy, which closed the London Film Festival this year. Sam's spokesperson said:
"Sam and Aaron are engaged and very happy."

While Miss Frank left The X Factor at the weekend, they also have moved out of the house that the contestants share in London while the live shows are airing. The house has got a lot of attention from fans, who wait outside to get a glimpse of the finalists. Lloyd Daniels, Danyl Johnson, Jamie Archer, Joe McElderry and Lucie Jones went out to meet their fans and supporters yesterday, while Rachel Adedeji was spotted being driven up to the house too.

The chosen 12 have been busy rehearsing for the first live X Factor show due to air this evening. Olly Murs, Lloyd Daniels, Danyl Johnson, Jamie Afro, Stacey Solomon, Kandy Rain (who have vowed never to strip again) and the rest of the gang have been travelling between their shared house and the studios. They're big stars already, and so many fans have been gathering outside the house that the police were called to disperse the crowds.

Betsey Johnson is diving headfirst into her first hotel collaboration with a suite inspired by Kay Thompson's Eloise for New York's most prestigious address, The Plaza Hotel. Once the dust of New York Fashion Week settles, she is due to begin designing a two-bedroom suite in the character's signature pink-and-black palette. This shouldn't be much of a stretch for the designer, who dressed her own Manhattan penthouse in head-to-toe pink (shown left).

No more tears, but something more harmful lurks inside? That's what the Campaign For Safe Cosmetics would lead you to believe. The coalition of health, environmental, and consumer groups — armed with a letter signed by nearly 50 groups totaling some 1.7 million members — approached Johnson & Johnson to ask that the company reformulate its products to be free of chemicals suspected of causing cancer.
