The building schedule for skyscrapers and a memorial planned for New York City's Ground Zero have been tossed out by the World Trade Center owners, due to unrealistic goals and rising costs.
Planners will announce a new timetable this September, seven years after the Twin Towers fell, according to BBC. Officials previously promised that the Freedom Tower, set to replace the destroyed towers while taking the title of the nation's tallest building, would be complete in 2006, then 2011, and finally in 2013.

It has taken me considerably longer to reconcile my negative feelings of running downhill with the power I feel running up the other side. Unlike biking down a descent where gravity pulls you along, running downhill is work and it's hard on your quads and knees. In my neck of the woods though, it's difficult to find a flat run so I've had to cultivate a love of running downhill.

A trustafarian is someone who wants street cred by living in artsy, pre-gentrified (or recently gentrified) neighborhoods and who pretends to be struggling while secretly living off a trust fund.
It seems that the recession is taking a toll even on the trustafarians hipsters at Ground Zero for hipsterdom, the Williamsburg section of Brooklyn, NY.
The New York Times reports today that parents hit with hard times are starting to pull the plug on the trust-funders.

Prince Harry spent the weekend on official duties in New York City, paying his respects at Ground Zero, planting a tree at the British Garden at Hanover Square, playing with the kids at Harlem Children's Zone, and taking part in a charity polo match. A whole host of celebrities turned up for the Veuve Clicquot Manhattan Polo Classic on Governor's Island, including LL Cool J, Madonna, Marc Jacobs, Chole Sevigny and a newly brunette Kate Hudson. My girl Bella UK wants to know do you prefer Kate as a blonde or brunette?

It's Grand Ole Opry week on American Idol, which meant time for everyone to bring out their best country voices — other than Adam Lambert, who decided sitar music was in order. Let's start with the low points. Michael Sarver kicked off the night in an utterly forgettable way, and while he's cute, it might be back to the oil rigs for him.

If you happen to be traveling through the Green Mountains of Vermont, you may be taken off guard by a decidedly modern interpretation of the classic farmhouse. Set on 44 acres of rolling hills and open farmland, this passive solar house, which won the 2008 AIA Vermont Honor Award in Sustainability and Design, manages to successfully marry vernacular architectural traditions with modern sensibilities.
The home, which was designed by Pill-Maharam Architects, has a laundry list of green features, including a LEED platinum rating, a 5+ Energy Star rating, a ground source heat pump, high efficiency lighting and appliances, and a 10KW wind turbine that supplies all of the energy for the home's heating, hot water, lighting, and appliances.

Dear Fit,
I've been running consistently, at least three times a week for a couple years now. I live where the Winters are cold and snowy, and last year I moved all my workouts and runs into a gym, but I really didn't love it. I decided that this year, I wouldn't let the cold stop me from continuing my outdoor runs.

The seventh anniversary of of September 11 is approaching and it seems like it's impossible to remember a time before. This horrific tragedy has entered the global lexicon of experience and colored everything since in a way few events in history have. Almost every person has a story of their own from that day, and a personal way of dealing with it since — some stay away from the movies and documentaries as if the facts are still too fresh; others obsessively pore over every true tale and listen to the 911 calls from that morning, hoping to that bitter medicine will hold answers.
