Red, gold, and the wordless melody of the Spanish national anthem filled Vienna's Ernst-Happel stadium Sunday night, as Spain beat Germany 1-0 to win the European Championship and end 44 years of underachieving.
Back in Madrid, Spain, fans and patriots waved the Spanish flag, watched fireworks, and partied in the streets. Firefighters cooled off the Summer celebration by spraying the crowds with water.

Javier Bardem and Penelope Cruz were right in the thick of things celebrating in Madrid on Sunday as Spain defeated Germany to win the Euro Cup for the first time in 44 years. Javier showed off his national pride in a jersey while Penelope looked pretty enough in white to get away with not sporting team spirit. The country-wide party probably made for a nasty hangover this morning but it's totally worth it when the reason for celebrating is so much fun.

She looked cute in her white dress and very navy blue ensemble as she smiled between takes of the film in Madrid. Last week she took a break from work to celebrate Spain's Euro Cup victory with her man Javier, so we think some more romantic party time is in order now that fellow native Rafael Nadal took the men's title at Wimbledon.
