And Happy Fourth of July. Here are some felines gettin' into the patriotic swing of things. Who says cats don't care about anything?

This cute doggie is just trying to add to the festivities by spreading the love around. Hot dogs and the Fourth of July usually go together well. Maybe not so much in this case.

Letting a pup have a few bites of corn isn't a horrible idea provided she's not allergic, but I wouldn't recommend doing this on a regular basis. The issue is not with the kernels (which can be a dog food "filler" item), but cobs are very dangerous for pets — they can cause intestinal obstruction if swallowed! Make sure to hold on tight while she nibbles, and throw it away in a pet-proof trash can after the snack to make sure she doesn't go in for seconds.

What can we learn from Mr. Squirrel here? Well, when life gives you lemons — turn them into a snack! A lip-smacking, vitamin C-packed snack that he makes look as delicious as a slice of pie.

I love discovering trendy yet classy iPhone cases as much as I like talking about them, but there's also a time and a place for the following ones . . .

Winston the short-haired weirdo defies every stereotype of his breed — at least according to Wikipedia and his owner, Rich. He's not that energetic, loyal, or friendly to other animals. Hey, even cats gotta be individuals!

Jenny McClain has her hands full at her bat rescue center in Northern Queensland, Australia. It's paralysis tick season, and as mother bats get bitten, they are too ill to take care of their babies. That's where Jenny and her staff of baby bat lovin' volunteers come in.

Admit it: you're just as addicted to adoro zoo babies as I am. From big cats (still small) to birds too tiny to fly, I can't get enough of all their little faces. Soooo, here's your chance to see if you can stare them down, too.

Buon giorno, Primo! The three-day-old babe is the first of his species to be born at Rome's Bioparco Zoo in decades. (Think you can guess where that name came from?) Although we've oohed and ahhed over a couple Grevy's zebras in the past, this lil one is a Grant's Zebra.
