The bond that forms between the family dog and the baby of the house is an inevitable and mysterious thing. The dog is usually jealous at first, but eventually grows overprotective of the crying, crapping, crawling, yet oh-so adorable, new rug rat. So is the pup below trying to steal the spotlight from his whining companion or simply trying to soothe the child?

Funny man Jack Black recently said he's gone sentimental since becoming a dad. The comedian and father of two admitted to even crying at commercials. Ads do a number on lots of new parents, perhaps it's the adorable, chubby cheeked bald babies they have in them, or the angelic infants sleeping that make the tear ducts of moms and dads loosen.

Tonight on the 6 'clock news — thieves feeding babies. Sounds crazy but that's what happened to a family in Indianapolis. While two high school students were robbing a house, a baby started to cry.

It's safe to say that many parents would be willing to pay top dollar to find out what is making their baby cry. So it's only logical that there are studies surrounding the subject and solutions marketed for those desperate parents. From research finding that newborns wail with an accent to a new iPhone application that claims to help new parents figure out why their lil one is screaming mad — we are obsessed with baby tears.

I've always found it fascinating that dogs "bark" in different languages. Though we say "ruff ruff" in English, that same noise is expressed as "ouah, ouah" in French. Now here's something even cooler: German researchers have started to think that babies' wails sound different depending on what language their parents speak.
