The governor of California, Arnold Schwarzenegger, decided that one way of dealing with California’s budget crisis is to eliminate — not reduce — state funding for domestic violence shelters. The state’s budget for agencies that provide domestic violence services is typically $20.4 million.

Today, the highly anticipated iPhone 3G S makes its way to stores nationwide. Another year, another new iPhone, which is expected to woo gadget enthusiasts. Although Mr. Apple himself — Steve Jobs — was absent from this year's keynote address at WWDC and is said to still be working from home, I've decided to dedicate a slice of today to him.

Jennifer Lopez worked the red carpet with Marc Anthony before lightening things up behind the podium at the Noche de Ninos Gala benefiting the Children's Hospital of LA on Saturday night. Jennifer talked about how a medical scare with her daughter Emme inspired her to start a foundation providing medical services to families in need. In the spirit of Mother's Day, she also debuted a brand new song she wrote for the twins.
