My best friend and I had a huge falling out over my birthday when she came back to our hometown. We never spoke again after that night — call it stubborn or call it "out of sight, out of mind," since she lives in San Diego and I'm in Hawaii. We were both drunk, and I said extremely hurtful things to her, as she did to me.

Last week, I was at my boyfriend's home and we got into an argument. We were drinking and the fight escalated into a screaming match. He called me some terrible names and proceeded to get my family involved in our problem.
