In honor of Earth Day, I was originally going to offer up my favorite eco geek and feature them in their own post. But once I got digging, I really couldn't decide on just one! Sure, the term "geek" may apply to more than gadgets in this case, but not only are these ten people lovably geeky in their own right, they all have one thing in common: they're passionate about our planet!

Climate change crusader Al Gore is back with a new book — Our Choice. The follow up to An Inconvenient Truth will spell out everything Gore has learned in the last few years, including concrete solutions to the climate issue. As the title hints at, Gore will hammer home the need to make bold choices.

The 2009 NAACP Image Awards came to LA's Shrine Auditorium with cohosts Halle Berry and Tyler Perry leading the way. Everyone looked fantastic hitting the red carpet and mingling with old friends during the show — check out all of Fab's love it or hate it polls here. Dakota Fanning chose yet another strapless number but still looked perfectly pretty.

The stars brought out the glamour last night for the 40th NAACP Image Awards at the Shrine Auditorium in LA: vote on all the red carpet looks here. Seal sang after Cosmo cover girl and Female Artist winner Beyonce opened the show, while Jennifer Hudson performed for President's Award winner Muhammad Ali and was named New Artist, saying: "This is where we come from. So it's always an honor to come home and feel welcome and to feel the love.

The new documentary Not Evil Just Wrong challenges so-called "global warming hysteria." The Irish filmmakers behind the project believe the effort to save the planet only hurts the poor, and they hope the film will discredit "alarmists" like Al Gore.
The film presents some alleged inconvenient truths that counter Al Gore.

Forget becoming Communist Russia, try a cabinet filled with all-powerful czars. When "climate czar" first popped into our lexicon earlier this week, I thought it was a one-time title for Al Gore because he's already been vice president — a cabinet title would practically be a demotion — and it has a nice ring to it. And because, really, how can there be a climate czar without it being Al Gore?

Word on the street is that Barack Obama plans to create a "climate czar" position to lead his administration's climate change and energy policies. But Al Gore, the most likely candidate, has already said that he doesn't want the job.
Perhaps Al Gore either didn't want to fill out that cumbersome questionnaire Obama is passing out to potential appointees, or saw the position as a demotion from vice president.

With all the talk lately about who's "in the tank" for whom, this is one story where the imagery just might fit. The CEO of Al Gore's big We Campaign is accusing ABC of putting the concerns of big oil over their message of planetary goodwill by refusing to run the latest Al Gore ad, called, "Repower America."
In a scathing email the CEO said:“Did you notice the ads after last night’s presidential debate?
