I'm not even in Austin for the South by Southwest Music Festival this year (but oh how I wish I were), and I'm still overwhelmed by the surplus of amazing bands taking the stage at any given moment.
Today marks the kickoff of the music (and most major) portion of this multimedia bonanza, which is known for breaking new indie acts. It's never too late to take The Fit Pledge to “Lose to Live in 2007.”
The fit pledge is a health awareness campaign hosted by the Inner City Purpose Network (ICPN) that aims to bring a national awareness to the number of people who annually dare themselves to lose weight, or discontinue vices that lead to poor health. The Pledge is meant to challenge Americans to document the progress of their pledge and share how the experience changed their lives through a web-based community as well as encourage Americans to implement a lifestyle change through a health-driven weight loss program (balanced diet and exercise).

Is your New Year's Resolution to work out more?
Here's a good idea: Try adding a bit more to what you are already doing, instead of trying to incorporate a complete work out overhaul. Do something as simple as adding just a few minutes to your work out.

A survey taken by the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) has revealed the trends in commercial, corporate, clinical, and community fitness program environments. So if you're one of those who wants to be ahead of the trends (fitness and otherwise) here they are:
