Tomorrow Today was a UK television program of the '70s that claimed to predict trends and lifestyle habits of the future. And where did the experts foresee fashion going? They had a space-age getup in mind, complete with metallic miniskirts and "specially adapted cosmetics belts" to free us ladies of our bulky purses.

I don't live in London, but thanks to the paparazzi, I know that Elle MacPherson, Stella McCartney, and Claudia Schiffer drop their kids off at the same school almost every morning. Day in and day out, these three fashionable mommies put their best boot forward. Elle always look boho with fur; Stella struts tough in leather and great outerwear; and Claudia exudes '70s chic in light hues and flared jeans.

I just heard about a new bar in SF that is right up my '70s-loving alley: Kozy Kar Bar. Apparently, there's waterbeds, hard drinks, shag carpet, and Playboy pinups all around. Sounds like a cheesy good time, no?

They were teamed with fun oversized bags and clogs, moccasins and loafers.

There's something about toner that seems a little old-fashioned. It's not that I haven't used one — I spent most of high school dousing myself in witch hazel — it's just that between cleansers, exfoliants, masks, and the army of high-tech new potions that claim to do anything and everything you can imagine, toner seems really simple, almost quaint. But appearances can be deceiving, and even though Sea Breeze ($5) and its ilk may be the same as they were in the '70s, there are some new toners out there with futuristic formulations that fight aging, acne, and even redness.

During Fashion Week and especially in London, you see a lot of things. Some of the beauty looks are edgy and have that certain British je ne sais quoi, whilst other shows exhibit a and polished and safer style of hair and makeup that you might expect to see from the high fashion catwalks. However, at Vauxhall Fashion Scout, a location for up and coming designers on the cusp of hitting the big time BFC tents — anything goes!

Douches and Red Bull often go together, but not like this. Mandy Moore totally nails the '70s lady-commercial voice and the fashions in this parody ad for Red Bull Douche, "the world's first feminine hygiene product with Red Bull." Admittedly, I've sometimes wished I could mainline energy drinks — just not down there.
