I read this article today on a Fashion blog, pretty hilarious stuff. And a bit sad, but that's just my opinion. Here goes:
New York State Representative Anthony Weiner is looking out for foreign models hoping to work in NYC.

Lindsay Lohan is the new face for a Visa campaign. Is this girl really responsible enough to be associated with credit cards? She's lending her image to Visa Swap-a, a fashion swap meet where customers can exchange their clothing for new ones.

Lindsay Lohan recently did a photo shoot to help launch the Visa Swap 2008 campaign for old, unwanted but still wearable clothing, shoes and bags. Fashion savvy consumers who have bulging closets of unwanted clothing are asked to gather up their goods and head to the Visa Swap store in London’s Covent Garden during the next six weeks.
Those donating apparel can earn points toward vintage and second hand fashion ‘must haves’ that have been dropped off by other fashion minded donors.

Dubai in dock over Israeli tennis star's ban
(CNN) -- Dubai could lose its place on the Women's Tennis Association Tour calendar after Israeli Shahar Peer was denied entry to compete at this week's event, the WTA supremo warned Monday.
Peer was scheduled to fly into the United Arab Emirates on Sunday, but was informed Saturday night by telephone that she would not be granted a visa.
WTA Chairman and CEO Larry Scott said the Sony Ericsson WTA Tour "will review appropriate future actions with regard to the future of the Dubai tournament."

New mom, Christina Aguilera, wants to make sure that all children receive a present with their name on it this year. “Can you imagine a childhood without toys?” says the star, “it breaks my heart to think about all the children in the world without the simple resources necessary for a happy, healthy and joyful childhood.”
That’s why Christina, along with 25 celebrities including Nicole Kidman, Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck, designed a unique Visa Gift Card as part of the Star Cards for a Cause campaign benefiting the Marine Toys for Tots Foundation. For each gift card sold, a $1 donation will be made to the charity, which purchases and distributes new toys to needy children at Christmas.

I just want to point out now, before anyone makes the mistake of thinking i'm encouraging you to apply for a Hello Kitty credit card i'm not advertising that you should get one at all :)
I clearly just want to point out that theres a Hello Kitty Platinum plus visa credit card out there!, and how totally cool that is. Above is a picture of what the card looks like. Cool huh?

A dissident Cuban blogger cannot go to New York to receive a top journalism prize, after the authorities upheld a ban on her travel abroad. Yoani Sanchez, 34, won the Maria Moors Cabot Prize for Generacion Y, a blog critical of Cuba's one-party Communist government. The prize is the oldest international award in journalism.

Barack Hussein Obama is making Americans less safe than we were before he was president.
On Sept. 28 at Los Angeles International Airport a plane was stopped just before it took off, and two men “who appeared to be of Middle Eastern descent” were arrested.

Hello and welcome!
I don't really know who would possibly be reading this, I only know that I've been reading other blogs and I've become 'hooked'. I find myself thinking of the things I would like to say or write about - pretty much all day long. I kinda figure that at the very least this is going to be a bit of a journal while I'm trying to figure out my life. We'll see where it goes from here...
I think I should start at the beginning, but which one? The beginning of me and my life? The beginning of my relationship with my soon to be ex-husband? The beginning of my trying to be 'me' as a single and dating Mom (now)?
I guess we need some background here to start off... So basic me:
- I am a small town girl that moved to the big city to go to College. I have a Degree in Psychology and Sociology as well as a Diploma in Child & Youth Work. I tell you this only because for so long I felt that my job really defined me (but that's a whole other entry...).
- So I moved to the city in June 1995. I had two roommates from my hometown. I met my future husband on November 29, 1995. So my big city dating lasted for only a short 5 months. I met 'him' on a telephone chat line. My roommates and our friends would all get on the extensions around the apartment and flirt and chat and goof around on the chat line. Slowly we all started going on on our own and actually meeting guys seriously. I can't remember exactly how many but I probably met around 8-10 guys off of the chat line.
So as this is just the getting-to-know the background post I will give a general overview of the next part. Let me start by saying that I DID NOT sleep with him on the first date.
