Once again this year, President George W. Bush issued a proclamation declaring October to be Domestic Violence Awareness Month. Senator Barack Obama also issued a statement urging Americans to “dedicate ourselves to working on behalf of the thousands of women who suffer in silence” during October.

This article is particularly disgusting and it's about three adults on a radio show who encourage violence against transgender children. I didn't include transgender in the title of the post because I don't think it matters. I hope most of us agree that violence against children is disgusting and an inappropriate route to any sort of treatment...period.

My boyfriend of about 5 months has become increasingly interested in joking about violence towards women. One of his friends recently married a young Afghan woman in an arranged marriage. Since then, my boyfriend has said, "I think we should move to Afghanistan where you will be forced to walk twelve steps behind me at all times."

California music festival featuring Snoop Dogg has been postponed over fears the rapper’s performance will attract gang violence.
The star was scheduled to play at The 2nd Annual Monterey Music Summit on May 30th.
But the festival has been delayed because members of the The Monterey County Board of Supervisors have demanded heightened security, fearing the star’s affiliation with the notorious Los Angeles Crips gang will cause violence at the event.

Aguilera seems like someone who wouldn’t take crap from anyone, if you ask me. She has a history of violence in her childhood, but somehow I just can’t see anyone pushing her around as an adult. She’s aware of the cycle of violence, and wanted to be sure it wouldn’t continue with her new husband.
