An article in Slate.com (www.slate.com/id/2177629) by Mike Steinberger calls into question the importance of judging wines only by a blind tasting. Does this make for the best wine criticism? "Blind tastings are wonderfully democratic, but there is a tendency to overlook the fact that wines and palates are fickle and to read more into the results than is justified," he says, citing a tasting in which American wines beat some of the top rated Burgundies and Bordeaux, and saying that the tasting didn't prove their superiority.Diddy and Ellen do four shots of vodka in taste test
Diddy was on Ellen today and she set up a taste test for the mogul in honor of Cinco de Mayo. (Video below) Diddy has developed his own vodka for Cîroc and receives half of the profits. This weekend I hosted a few impromptu, informal wine club meetings. Ok basically I got together with my oldest and best girlfriend Emily and we sipped some new wines together while filling out my wine tasting notes worksheet. After Wine Tasting
I went wine tasting in Calaveras County last Saturday with 7 of my best girlfriends. We went to a record breaking 7 wineries and bought a total of 17 bottles of wine. Needless to say when we arrived home at the vacation party, we had a little dance party.

For a few years now I've wanted to try to marry the traditional Southern Indian food my husband grew up enjoying with Thanksgiving as I know it (Southern girl with a love of spice and heat).
So this year I did a trial run of a tandoori-style turkey made in the oven. By next year I hope to build my own tandoor, or at least grill this guy, because it needs a little more heat to crisp up properly.
