The park bench was deserted as I sat down to read,
beneath the long, straggly branches of an old willow tree.
Disillusioned by life with good reason to frown,
for the world was intent on dragging me down.
And if that were not enough to ruin my day,
a young boy out of breath approached me, all tired from play.

Once there was a woman who had lost all her money. She lived fm social security and hardly had anything to share with her family.
She was unhappy and frustrated not to be able to travel, buy expensive things and have comfort time for herself.

"Repent," the preacher cried out, startling those who heard him.
This was no street evangelist ranting at the passing crowd, but the archbishop of Canterbury, head of the Church of England. His sharp admonition was pointed directly at a particular set of sinners, who undoubtedly had never given any thought to the morality of their actions: the barons of global banking.

Family Ties: The Other Bill Clinton
Global VIP's Attend Clinton Global Initiative
By NANCY GIBBS
A daughter seeking her father's attention faces steep competition when he's also the leader of the free world. The Cancerian character is the least clear-cut of all those associated with the signs of the zodiac. It can range from the timid, dull, shy and withdrawn to the most brilliant, and famous Cancerians are to be found through the whole range of human activity. It is a fundamentally conservative and home-loving nature, appreciating the nest like quality of a secure base to which the male can retire when he needs a respite from the stresses of life, and in which the Cancerian woman can exercise her strong maternal instincts.

Aries
The spring equinox, March 21, is the beginning of the new zodiacal year and Aries, the first sign, is therefore that of new beginnings. The young ram is adventurous, ambitious, impulsive, enthusiastic and full of energy. The Arian is a pioneer both in thought and action, very open to new ideas and a lover of freedom.

Out of power and out of touch, they feast on stale slogans and whine.
by Thomas Frank
Just as the financial crisis has created toxic assets and "zombie" financial institutions, so has it transformed conservatism into a movement of the living dead. Its partisans cling to a now-toxic portfolio of discredited notions, rhetoric, gestures and strategies.
