Soprano Elza van den Heever, a native of Johannesburg, South Africa is currently in her second year at the San Francisco Opera Center’s Adler Fellowship Program, where she will be appearing in the San Francisco Opera’s production of Der Rosenkavalier, conducted by music director, Donald Runnicles. While an Adler Fellow, she has also made her San Francisco recital debut to critical acclaim in the 2006 Schwabacher Debut Recital Series. Most recently, Ms.

So I thought I would start the Gallery by talking about one of my favorite artists, Gustav Klimt
An Austrian Symbolist painter and one of the most prominent members of the Vienna Art Nouveau (Vienna Secession) movement. His major works include paintings, murals, sketches and other art objects, many of which are on display in the Vienna Secession gallery. Klimt's primary subject was the female body, and his works are marked by a frank eroticism--nowhere is this more apparent than in his numerous drawings in pencil.
