Dogs were one of the first animals domesticated by humans and have been domesticated for some 10,000 years.
The Saluki, the name deriving from the Arabic word meaning ‘noble one', is the oldest known breed of dog. In ancient Egypt, they were bred as hunting dogs.

On a balmy autumn day in Vancouver, a young man is longing for a walk outside in the sunshine, and deciding against it. Far easier for him to stay in his hotel room, cocooned in five-star luxury with a mobile phone that has run out of charge, safe at least from the girls chanting his name outside. Robert Pattinson, 23 and from Barnes in southwest London, ought still to be one of Hollywood’s beautiful dreamers, moving up the ranks of movie acting, enjoying his American adventure, his guitar, his good looks.

>Hi Reader,
I have been a voyeur at this site for quite some time and as such I have come to respect your design vision. I need your help ASAP! I recently experienced some water damage to my 1942 custom bungalow. As a result the wonderful insurance company has come through and has agreed to re-install new hardwood floors in my dining room and living room, paint the entire kitchen (including cabinets) laundry room, dining room, living room and to install a new kitchen floor. My problem is choosing paint color for my rooms! I am so overwhelmed with all the options I have been researching. I am posting pictures in the gallery and hopefully here too but it is difficult to get a feel for the space because there is no furniture or art or anything personal in the rooms! So I guess I had better give you some idea what our idea of a comfortable space looks like. We are eclectic in our tastes. Mixed antiques and modern midcentury pieces are scattered about. I collect Shag prints, which are bold and bright with lots of oranges and greens. I also collect tikis but HATE the beachy thing. My husband is an airbrush artist and tends toward bold deep color. Now the house. We have 8 foot ceiling in the living area and dining area with coved ceilings and curved walls. I am installing recessed lighting in all three rooms. The red kitchen island that sits in the dining room in the pictures obviously belongs in the kitchen and well be painted as well. Lots of nooks and crannies and built in cabinets and bookcases scattered about. Give it your best shot! HELP me pick some amazing paint color and I will post the finished result for your viewing pleasure! P.S. I am looking for a chesterfield sofa for the living room in what I envision to be olive green leather. Any ideas? Here is a link to the Flicker site for some pics! http://www.flickr.com/photos/44249767@N05/?saved=1

The urge to enhance our physical appearance with jewelry is timeless. Every possible part of our body is adorned with jewelry, be it ear rings for the ears, anklets for the ankles or ed hardy belts neckpieces for the necks. We do it not only to enhance physical beauty but also as part of status symbol or for cultural and religious reasons.

How much would you spend for a piece of Britney Spears?
The pop singer, 25, is planning to auction off a slew of personal belongings, her pal Sam Lutfi tells photo agency X17.
He says she would like to donate proceeds “to a children’s cause” that she’ll announce at a later date.
