This is really a Flashback, but I was just thinking about this one the other day. Another one of my husband's favorite movies, and my kids too. He's got them warped too.

MCCAIN SAID:
"Jim, when I came home from prison, I saw our veterans being very badly treated, and it made me sad. And I embarked on an effort to resolve the POW-MIA issue, which we did in a bipartisan fashion, and then I worked on normalization of relations between our two countries so that our veterans could come all the way home.
I guarantee you, as president of the United States, I know how to heal the wounds of war"
BUT:
There is plenty of information detailing the 'difficult' relations between McCain and the POW/MIA community - I've blogged a couple here in the past - there are from a summary article from Salon.com:
"McCain has an icy relationship with the POW/MIA community.

I only started to collect vintage furniture about 8 months ago. I'd been working from home and on my "breaks" ;) I began to slowly redecorate the house. I had always wanted a chair in my bedroom, but I just couldn't find one with enough "pop"!

Orel's POV
I laid down on my bed. My room mate was this weird dude with brown hair and always wore a hoodie.
When i introduced myself, i was just trying to be friendly.

fights off evil-doers to save the world, but Hong Kong's polluted harbour is, apparently, one death-defying stunt too far.
Producers shooting the next Batman movie have been forced to cut one scene involving the caped crusader -- played by Christian Bale -- jumping out of a plane into the city's famed Victoria Harbour.
According to the South China Morning Post, producers felt the poor water quality was just too dangerous for the action hero when shooting for part of the film takes place here in the coming week.

DENIED: Bigotry of the Obamatrons by Charles Winecoff
Recently, at the office (a place I sometimes affectionately refer to as Obama Central), I made the mistake of printing out a Washington Post editorial that questioned the foreign policy expertise of our new Commander-in-Chief. By the time I got to the printer to pick it up, someone else had already seen it - and stamped “DENIED” across the top of the page in red ink. Next to that was scrawled, “RIGHT WINGER GO HOME.”
The first thing that went through my mind was: cross burnings.

In September 2002, senior leaders on the Senate and House intelligence committees — Democrats and Republicans — began receiving briefings on the CIA’s “enhanced interrogation program,” including the use of waterboarding on top al-Qaeda operatives. Among the leaders briefed was Nancy Pelosi, now speaker of the House.
This document is the latest chapter in the Democrats’ torture narrative — a warped tale that trivializes true torture by confounding it with less extreme forms of interrogation.
