Senator No: Jesse Helms
If you live in North Carolina tune to PBS's UNC-TV at 9 PM tonight and watch the premiere of Senator No: Jesse Helms. I am associated with the filmmaker and some of the images used in the documentary came from the library where my husband works. For those of you interested, Jesse Helms was an arch-conservative North Carolina senator.

Girls in the program attend 90-minute meetings every week at which they receive lessons in abstinence and the use of contraceptives — and they receive $7 every week they do not get pregnant.

In these days of hybrid cars and carbon credits, it is common knowledge that substances exhaled by autos and coal plants are harmful to our respiratory system.
