MEXICO CITY – Capital residents ate lunch on sidewalks, in parks or at the office Tuesday as the government prohibited restaurants from letting people eat inside in a further attempt to contain the flu virus claiming new lives every day.
"It's strange," said Iván Ramírez, who was carrying his fast-food meal from the touristy Zona Rosa to his office. Restaurants could still offer food to go.

US President Barack Obama has arrived in Mexico for a visit during which he is expected to express support for its war on drugs cartels.
Mr Obama is to hold wide-ranging talks with his Mexican counterpart, Felipe Calderon, on topics including the economy and cross-border smuggling.
Analysts say Mr Obama wants to show solidarity with Mr Calderon.

Mexico's navy has seized more than a ton of cocaine stuffed inside frozen sharks, as drug gangs under military pressure go to greater lengths to conceal narcotics bound for the United States.
Armed and masked navy officers cut open more than 20 shark carcasses filled with slabs of cocaine after checking a container ship in a container port in the southern Mexico state of Yucatan, the navy and Mexican media said on Tuesday.
"We are talking about more than a ton of cocaine that was inside the ship," Navy Commander Eduardo Villa told reporters after X-ray machines and sniffer dogs helped uncover the drugs.

225 People Skate in Human Chain in Mexico

MEXICO CITY - More than 200 children and teenagers wobbled across a large rink in Mexico City's main square Wednesday, in what the city government claimed set a new world record for the longest human chain of ice skaters.
To break the record, more than 102 people needed to skate in a chain for more than three minutes, said Jose Pablo Rodriguez of event organizer Key Entertainment.

Emo kids – for those of you not in the know – are the tight-black jean and heavy eyeliner wearing pseudo-depressed kids that listen to equally depressing music and take sad pictures of themselves to post on their MySpace pages.

Looks like Britney Spears has some tricks up her sleeve. Spears' had the whole world thinking she was on a private jet headed for NYC, but the fallen pop star actually went to Mexico instead.
Spears' boarded a plane with her sleaze bag paparazzi boyfriend Adnan yesterday afternoon and fled to Mexico.
