New York – Pop star Lady Gaga is not afraid to take fashion risks, as her ensemble for the 13th annual ACE Awards proved. At New York's Cipriani on 42nd Street on Monday, Nov. 2, to pick up her "Stylemaker" award from presenter Marc Jacobs, Lady Gaga wore a fifties-style pale pink bra and girdle-like panties over a gray crushed velvet shirt in a masculine-meets-feminine play.

Over the past several days a strange characterization of Professor Henry Louis Gates, Jr. has emerged. Many are portraying him as a radical who easily and inappropriately appeals to race as an excuse and explanation. This image of Gates is inaccurate.

Young conservative women have an organization to call their own. The Network of Enlightened Women (NeW) held its fourth annual conference at the Heritage Foundation on June 26, 2009.
Karin Agness, a University of Virginia law school graduate and the founder of NeW, said that the organization serves a two-fold purpose: first, as a book club, which provides a "structural and educational component," and second, as a network to "cultivate a community of conservative women."

By Ken Blackwell
I should have known the Rev. Richard Neuhaus was seriously ill when he announced last November in his journal First Things that he had given up reading the New York Times. He had, over the years, tweaked the Gray Lady, calling her “our parish newspaper.” But for decades, the late Richard John Neuhaus had read and commented thoughtfully on the Times.

Bow-ow-ow: Obama's painful missteps
Let the new president grow into the job -- but he'd better do it fast!
Plus: Readers ask about everything from talk radio, morality
By Camille Paglia
Dear Camille,
In your column, you say, "President Obama has been ill-served by his advisors and staff."
The primary job requirement of a good senior executive is the ability to judge character and ability, in order to be able to select people to whom responsibilities may be safely delegated.

Even in a city of cynics, the Inauguration of a new president — and the infusion of new ideas, new personalities and new energy that comes with it — summons feelings of reverence.
