It was such a nice feeling finishing French last Friday! The final wasn't as bad as the final for either Chinese or Spanish, which was such a relief...i mean, it wasn't a piece of cake, but at least I didn't have the "Execution Day" song (by the New Pornographers) in my head during it (like I did for Chinese). This is the first time since November that I haven't had to think about studying!

'Obscure Tea-Bagging Operation'
http://www.futureofcapitalism.com/2009/11/obscure-tea-bagging-operation
The Goldman Sachs-funded business news watchdog blog at the Columbia Journalism Review goes after a fellow non-profit news organization, ProPublica, for a ProPublica article on wasteful stimulus spending. Columbia Journalism Review criticizes ProPublica for using a quotation from a spokeswoman for Citizens Against Government Waste, which Columbia Journalism Review sneeringly and condescendingly and dismissively and, well, offensively, characterizes as "some obscure tea-bagging operation." Citizens Against Government Waste has been around since 1984, and its 2007 IRS Form 990 indicates it had revenue and expenses of about $4.4 million, more if you include an affiliated 501(c)4 group.

Blair was seen sporting this cute outfit. I really hope they didn't get rid of Blair's headbands I love them. She wore a DVF skirt and Paul Smith cardigan, but I can't find it any other color beside Indigo.

I edited this post because the Yahoo story is screwy. It is missing a lot of information that it had earlier.

12) Only national health care can provide "coverage that will stay with you whether you move, change your job or lose your job" -- as Obama said in a New York Times op-ed.
This is obviously a matter of great importance to all Americans, because, with Obama's economic policies, none of us may have jobs by year's end.
The only reason you can't keep -- or often obtain -- health insurance if you move or lose your job now is because of ...

America needs a warning system to identify the threats coming out of Washington
David Harsanyi | August 26, 2009
One of the more ridiculed schemes to emerge from the Bush administration was the color-coded terror alert system. But the idea isn't totally useless.First implemented in March 2002 as a "readiness measure," it has been criticized for its wide-ranging ineffectiveness and susceptibility to political manipulation. Now, really, if we didn't believe in wide-ranging ineffectiveness and susceptibility to political manipulation, we wouldn't bother voting. So, in the spirit of sustainability, there must be some way to retrofit this alert system for a more practical purpose. You know what Americans could really use these days?

Having lost the Congress in 2006 and the White House in 2008, Republicans are looking to redefine themselves for a nation that still leans conservative but is less Republican than it has been in decades.

Over the past several days a strange characterization of Professor Henry Louis Gates, Jr. has emerged. Many are portraying him as a radical who easily and inappropriately appeals to race as an excuse and explanation. This image of Gates is inaccurate.
