Shi was kind of enough to suggest this group as a place to write/talk about my recent 8 day trip (not including flight travel days) to Italy with my boyfriend. We visited Rome, Florence and Venice. And we also visited Siena and a small town called Empoli while in Florence.

First I want to apologize for not writing this last part sooner. Work’s been very busy and for awhile there I couldn’t get in the right frame of mind to write. But I’m back now with the final installment :-D.

Tom Hanks saves the day for a local bride in Italy
Hanks played a real life hero this week by halting filming on his new movie to help a stranded bride reach her wedding. Hanks is currently filming Da Vinci Code sequel Angels and Demons in Rome, Italy and the crew were shooting outside the Pantheon church in the city when the actor spotted the stricken woman. Slowly, but surely, I am trying to write about different artists and bring attention to some of the galleries and museums that are not as well known, especially as many of our sugar friends are planning trips to various locales throughout the world.

Everywhere you look in Italy, you will come upon a famous painting, church, fountain, sculpture, etc., the country is lush with beauty in all forms whether it be art, food, culture, fashion, music and life itself.
New 'anti-wrinkle' pizza causes a stir with pie purists in Italy (AFP:Yahoo)

ROME (AFP) - A so-called "anti-wrinkle" pizza created by a nutritionist in southern Italy has caused a stir, with pizza purists protesting against the desecration of the national dish.
The "primula" pizza is made up of three times the amount of fibre found in a classic pizza and boasts that it contains more magnesium and iron, thanks to its ingredients, including wholemeal flour, La Stampa newspaper reported Monday.
At least eight vegetables or sauces in the pizza allegedly create the anti-oxidant effects against ageing: tomatoes, rocket, garlic, courgettes, basil, mushrooms, carrots and spinach.
