As Tropical Storm Gustav gains strength and heads straight into the Gulf of Mexico, Louisiana residents can feel a lot better about replacing the blubbering Blanco with Mr. Bobby Jindal as their elected Governor. Unlike Blanco and Nagin who seemed to be caught off guard with a hurricane - which are yearly threats to their state and city - Jindal is already planning ahead... almost a week ahead.

(AP) President George W. Bush will leave behind a legacy of Bushisms, the label stamped on the commander in chief's original speaking style. Some of the president's more notable malaprops and mangled statements:

The CW took a risk by debuting its fall schedule a full three weeks ahead of most of the other networks, and starting on Labor Day no less, a night that usually sees pretty low ratings. But it looks like the strategy is off to a good start.
The network’s buzzy second-year show “Gossip Girl” debuted to its best-ever ratings in the network’s target women 18-34 demographic, according to Nielsen overnights, averaging a 2.3 rating and finishing a close second behind Fox’s “Prison Break” in the 8 p.m.
