On a balmy autumn day in Vancouver, a young man is longing for a walk outside in the sunshine, and deciding against it. Far easier for him to stay in his hotel room, cocooned in five-star luxury with a mobile phone that has run out of charge, safe at least from the girls chanting his name outside. Robert Pattinson, 23 and from Barnes in southwest London, ought still to be one of Hollywood’s beautiful dreamers, moving up the ranks of movie acting, enjoying his American adventure, his guitar, his good looks.

If you remember the Original Hollywood Squares and its comics, this may
bring a tear to your eyes. These great questions and answers are from the
days when " Hollywood Squares" game show responses were spontaneous, not
scripted, as they are now. Peter Marshall was the host asking the
questions, of course..

Britney Spears has called off her romance with her longtime agent Jason Trawick, according to a new report. The singer is said to have asked Trawick for some time for herself after the couple`s relationship began to turn serious as he accompanied the pop star on her Circus world tour.Spears was even rumored to have been engaged to Trawick earlier this month after she was photographed with a sparkling ring on her wedding finger - but the 27 year old has now taken a break from their love affair, reports OKmagazine.com.One source tells the website, "They are taking some time apart," while another adds, "She told him she needed to get back on her own two feet before moving forward. Jason was disappointed, but he understood."Trawick was spotted entertaining a group of female admirers during a night out in Hollywood last weekend as Spears prepared to perform three consecutive concerts at New York`s Madison Square Garden. But the insider suggests it might not be the end for the couple, adding, "Jason`s always loved her, (even) since the Justin Timberlake days, so he won`t let her go easily. He`s giving her space - that`s what she`s asked for."

Conformity is now the new dissent
By Mark Steyn
DISSENT IS THE HIGHEST FORM OF PATRIOTI… No, wait, that bumper sticker expired January 20th. Under the stimulus bill, there's a new $1.3 trillion bills-for-bumpers program whereby, if you peel off old slogans now recognized as environmentally harmful ("QUESTION AUTHORITY"), you can trade them in for a new "CELEBRATE CONFORMITY" sticker, complete with a holographic image of President Obama that never takes his eyes off you.
"The right-wing extremist Republican base is back!"

Brad Pitt, Angelina Jolie and their six children landed at Tempelhof airport in Berlin at around 3:30 in the afternoon yesterday. They seem to have evaded photographers as I was unable to find photographs of their arrival in the German press or photo agencies. The famous family has rented a 130,000 square foot property complete with three mansions in the Wannsee area for 90 days.

House star Hugh Laurie has been outspoken about his loneliness as he’s stayed in LA to work on the popular Fox show while his family, including three teenage children, has remained with their mom in their native England. Laurie has said that he’s tried to convince his kids, Charlie, 19, Bill, 17, and Rebecca, 14, to move to LA but that his oldest son was particularly against it. Compounding the problem was Laurie’s own mistrust of his success and his fear that once he moves his family to LA he’ll end up out of work.
