WASHINGTON, D.C. — In one of the most public tests of his political skills since taking office in July, Sen. Al Franken pushed through an amendment Tuesday that would withhold defense contracts from companies like Halliburton if they restrict their employees from taking workplace sexual assault, battery and discrimination cases to court.

The cavernous photography studio in New York City is bustling with fashion assistants, hair and makeup stylists, and models chatting in white terry robes. All typical on a photo shoot, but when the robes come off, you see what's different. Kate Dillon, Ashley Graham, Amy Lemons, Lizzie Miller, Crystal Renn, Jennie Runk and Anansa Sims -- some of the top plus-size models working today -- have beautiful curves, round shoulders, belly rolls and lots of other womanly stuff many of us see when we look in the mirror.

My best friend tells me that as people age they are supposted to S L O W down. Why? I have done the opposite and I believe it keeps me young....well probably younger than most people assume I am,
Recently I was asked to take on some duties at my daughter's school and my husband put his foot down and said NO. I guess I have trouble saying no to some things. I like being involved and meeting people. If I had to stay in a cubicle all day you'd have to peel me from the ceiling. I know that my husband was right. I am too involved with so many things and adding another would be crazy.
Between being a mom and wife I manage to squeeze in college, volunteering at a women's shelter, work and an internship as well as writing content for three websites and legislation for the American Legion.... I am thinking......could I possibly add a yoga class? When right?

This is what a working woman looks like according to a 1950s Jantzen bathing suit ad. I guess it's better than being stuck in the kitchen, right? Either way, I'll have what she's having.

His voice started to break when he added, “I feel remorse for the Vietnamese who were killed, for their families, for the American soldiers involved and their families.

Michael Vick, exiled from football for two seasons, finally has a new team, and it is not one anyone expected. He will give them a versatile backup who can run as well as pass, but who could also eventually compete for McNabb’s job.
