Amy Winehouse turned to drugs following the death of her grandmother, according to reports.
The Rehab hitmaker’s former manager Nick Godwyn says Winehouse was devastated after grandmother Cynthia lost her battle with breast cancer in 2006.
And Godwyn admits Cynthia was the only person who could control the 24-year-old’s behavior
.

Just like little Davie Banda, whose father was too poor to keep him but is still very much alive, Madonna has set her sites on a little Malawian girl who still has living family. Madonna has denied that a second adoption is in the works, but she said the same thing just before adopting David and her husband recently admitted it was a “possibility” that they would adopt again. This news was out two weeks ago, but photo agency Fame just published more family photos and news of Mercy, who is around two, today.

Leonardo DiCaprio is mourning the death of his beloved maternal grandmother, Helene Indenbirken.
Indenbirken, whom The Departed star called Oma, was 93 and passed away in a hospital in her native North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany, according to Indenbirken's hometown paper, the Recklinghauser Zeitung.
No exact date or cause of death has been reported.
Only last week, DiCaprio and his mother visited Indenbirken in the hospital in Oer-Erkenschwick.

When I was in college, I read a book that changed my life. It was Susan Brownmiller's tome, Against Our Will: Men, Women, and Rape, which explained rape as an act of power instead of just lust. What I found particularly chilling was the chapter on war -- how rape is used to terrorize a population and destroy the enemy's spirit.
